Get Rested and improve Comfort at your base
Rested improves stamina capacity and regeneration; Comfort mainly extends its duration. Use a warm, sheltered place with a bed or seat, keep nearby threats away and watch the active status. Improve the strongest item in each comfort category instead of assuming every duplicate adds its full value.
Early Access guide: released Update 8 rules and version 0.9.1.2 recipe data. Not a guide to unreleased 1.0 changes.
Check the rest spot in a useful order
If the basic resting conditions are missing, adding more decorative items is not the first fix.
Sheltered
Finish the room shell and check its status.
Warmth
Use a warm spot for resting.
Safe rest
Keep threats away; a seat or bed is a reliable choice.
Rested active
Read the resulting status and duration.
Read the resting checks in the HUD

Check these states at the place you actually rest. If shelter or warmth is missing, solve that condition before judging a comfort upgrade.
Do not confuse the buff with its timer
| Part | What it changes | Useful decision |
|---|---|---|
| Rested | Stamina capacity and regeneration | Get the buff before leaving the base. |
| Comfort | Mainly the duration of Rested | Improve the rest spot, not the combat-buff strength. |
| Duplicate category items | Not a simple full-value stack | Prefer the strongest useful item in each category. |
Upgrade the room by category
Think of the rest room as a set of comfort categories rather than a pile of identical props. Check what category an item contributes to and compare it with the strongest item you already have in that category.
As a planning recommendation, make a short inventory of the room before crafting replacements: category, current strongest item, proposed improvement. This avoids spending materials on several duplicates when a different category is the more useful upgrade.
Read the current timer instead of using an old formula
Update 8 changes late-game Comfort accumulation: pushing an already high level higher now takes more comfort points. Some prop and trophy values changed as well.
That makes a fixed “one minute for every point” shortcut a poor planning rule. Use the status shown at your rest spot to judge the practical improvement. Sitting or sleeping is a reliable recommendation, not a claim that standing can never provide Rested.
