Use a Quick Stack Station to sort your backpack

The normal Quick Stack Station transfers backpack items to matching Magic Chest stacks within a 16-metre radius. Craft it through a sheltered Carpenter with 1 Shroud Core, 2 Goo and 5 Revelwood Stone. Check that each destination chest accepts automatic deposits; Update 8 lets a chest deny them.

Early Access guide: released Update 8 rules and version 0.9.1.2 recipe data. Not a guide to unreleased 1.0 changes.

Craft the normal station

The Carpenter and Circular Sawblades progression is a normal unlock route; the data also lists a Game Progress alternative. Check the available recipe rather than treating one route as the only condition.

Place the station near the matching storage

The radius belongs to the normal station’s deposit function. Keep the destination Magic Chests within 16 metres of it.

Conceptual layout for the normal station. Only matching stacks in accepting Magic Chests within the radius are destinations. Swipe the diagram to inspect each part.

Use the station as the point you return to after gathering. Group the receiving chests close enough to that point, and give each intended category an existing matching stack. Do not expect this description to create new categories in every empty chest.

Check three things before expecting a deposit

Use the station after arranging the destinations.

  1. Matching stack

Does a Magic Chest already hold the item?

  2. Within 16 m

Is that chest in the normal station’s radius?

  3. Deposits allowed

Does its automatic-deposit setting accept items?

Use chest permissions to keep a deliberate storage layout

Update 8 adds an accept-or-deny toggle for deposits from the Quick Stack Station. A nearby chest can therefore be intentionally excluded even though it is in range.

As a layout recommendation, allow deposits into your routine gathering stores and inspect the setting on any chest you want to keep separate. Keep that choice distinct from the chest’s role in supplying crafting materials.

Do not apply this radius to every storage feature

This is the normal Quick Stack Station, not the larger variant. Its 16-metre radius describes deposits; it does not describe Magic Chest crafting access, an altar’s building area or a larger station’s coverage.

If a category is not going where you expect, compare its stack, distance and permission first. Enlarging the altar alone does not substitute for the station’s deposit radius.
